SpaceX Dragon freighter decouples from space station for journey back to Earth

A SpaceX Dragon freighter returns to Earth.

The unmanned Dragon CRS-24 supply ship was undocked from the International Space Station on Sunday (Dec. 23) after being docked with the orbiting lab for just over a month. The spacecraft, loaded with more than 2 tons of equipment, departed from the station at 10:40 a.m. EST (1540 GMT) after a two-day delay due to weather at the landing site. The spacecraft will crash off the west coast of Florida on Monday.
