As mentioned before, the Hotel Transylvania franchise launched with comedy legend Adam Sandler in the lead role in 2012. Sandler played Dracula in the first three Hotel Transylvania before dropping out of the film series in April 2021. Sandler is replaced by voice actor, impressionist and YouTuber Brian Hull, who also voices Count Dracula in the Hotel Transylvania short animation film Monster Pets for 2021.
As with Dracula before him, Frank was played by the same actor in the first three Hotel Transylvania movies before being recast in 2021. First played by Kevin James, a longtime Adam Sandler collaborator, Frankenstein’s Monster has since been recast and is now voiced by Brad Abrell. Voice actor Abrell has had a long and varied career, lending his unique vocal talents to a mix of film, television and video game based projects over the past 30 years.
Murray the mummy was the first Hotel Transylvania character recast throughout franchise history, with Murray’s voice actor swapping before Hotel Transylvania 2. Originally voiced by soul singer Cee Lo Green, comedic stalwart Keegan-Michael Key has since taken over from Murray for the next three Hotel Transylvania submissions.
As part of Hotel Transylvania: Transformania‘s voice actor exodus, Sadie Sandler followed her father from the… Hotel Transylvania movie studio is replaced by live stream‘s Zoe Berri. Adam Sandler and Kevin James have since announced that they are currently working on an undisclosed animation project with Netflix, meaning Sadie Sandler will likely also appear alongside her two former Hotel Transylvania co-stars.
Voiced for the first time by Johnny Solomon in Hotel Transylvania 2, the amorphous blob was then voiced by longtime franchise director Genndy Tartakovsky.
