National Vacation Day Plan: The Best Travel Deals

According to the US Travel Association, the “National Plan for Vacation Day” — held annually on the last Tuesday in January — is designed to encourage Americans to plan their vacation days at the beginning of the year. The day is meant to “emphasize the importance of taking time off to travel”.

Even after two years of living through the Covid-19 pandemic with people experiencing high levels of burnout, data from the US Travel Association shows that Americans are still not taking the vacation days they are entitled to. According to the group, American workers left an average of more than four days on the table last year — or 29% of their paid time off. In fact, only a quarter of Americans used all of their earned free time by 2021.
