What is Kisan credit card?
Kisan Credit Card (KCC) has been launched by the central government to ensure that farmers in the country can access credit at a reasonable rate. This scheme was introduced in August 1998 and was based on the recommendations of a special committee set up for input on loans and agricultural welfare. KCC Loan provides term loans to the farmers to cover the costs of farming, harvesting and maintaining the farm.

Who is eligible for the Kisan card?
Anyone engaged in agriculture, related activities or non-agricultural activities can apply for a Kisan credit card. Below we have listed full details about the eligibility criteria, essential documents etc. for Kisan Credit Card loans:
Minimum age – 18 years
Maximum age – 75 years
If a borrower is a senior (aged over 60), then a co-counselor is required when the co-counselor must be a legal heir.
All farmers – individual or joint growers

What is the limit of KCC?
For Marginal Farmers – A flexible limit of Rs. 10,000 – Rs. 50,000 is provided (as Flexi KCC) based on land ownership and crops grown, including credit requirements for post-harvest warehouse storage and other farming costs. (According to RBI website)
Kisan credit card: how to apply
Applying for a Kisan Credit Card is very simple. Today, banks have made provisions to enable an online and offline application process. To apply online, follow the steps below:
Go to the Kisan Credit Card section of any bank’s official website
Tap the “Apply Now” button
Fill in all your details carefully (name, mobile number, etc.)
Then click the submit button to apply online
The processing time of the application is 3 to 4 working days
If the application is approved, a supervisor will contact you and explain what documents are required and where to go for further steps.
To apply offline, you need to go to the nearest bank branch and apply for the Kisan credit card loan. Remember to bring all relevant documents with you at the time of registration.
By providing your mobile number in the application form, you will receive status updates one by one until your loan is approved.
