The Situation’s baptism makes a splash

Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino made a splash on the Thursday, Feb. 10, episode of “Jersey Shore Family Vacation.”

He was baptized. Anyway, we think he was baptized.

Mike was dunked in a tub of water by Uncle Nino at his Holmdel home as the cast, a choir, and the show’s cameramen and sound crew looked on. Mike needed to be baptized as the church where he was originally baptized lost his records, according to the show, and he needed proof as his baby Romeo’s baptism is coming up.

“Sometimes the Lord sends a sinner to do His work,” said Mike of Uncle Nino.

“That’s right,” Uncle Nino said.

Mike wore white athletic clothes and a red, white and green wristband on his forearm. He had previously named Pauly D. DelVecchio and Jenni “JWoww” Farley as his godparents.

Pauly D hired a gospel choir to serenade Mike.

“This is exactly why Pauly D was my choice for godfather,” Mike said. “If I had chosen Vinny he probably would have been on the side eating bacon, OK, and doing some sort of stand-up routine and then he would have done the worm.”

Vinny did indeed do the worm after the baptism.

Uncle Nino incoherently read a blessing and crudely referred to Mike’s private parts as he sat in the water.
