Sharks on Vacation: Hertls in Hawaii

With the San Jose Sharks making their return to the Bay Area following their extended All-Star break, let’s take another look at what some of the guys got up to.

This was last week:

Mario Ferraro gave us a sneak peak of his new look after he blocked an Owen Tippett shot with his jaw to close out his January.

The guys took to Instagram to compliment the defenseman with Matt Nieto even commenting, “Still the best looking guy on the team!!”

Enjoy those salmon nuggets, Mario, you’ve more than earned them. Also, have you ever seen anybody more excited about salmon nuggets? I wonder if that’s what Mario has to eat because of his jaw injury?

Presumably far away from any salmon nuggets, Logan Couture spent a nice day just outside of Annadel State Park, enjoying this fantastic view. The San Jose Sharks captain was treated to one of those ideal California days that everybody dreams of.

Jeffrey Viel and his dalmatian Koda headed out to Carmel-by-the-Sea for a bit of the more local beach life and honestly, are you more jealous of Koda or Viel being at the beach?

There were plenty of Sharks in Hawaii — and not necessarily in the water.

Nicolas Meloche enjoyed island life at a golf course on Oahu and come on, who isn’t at least a little jealous of that view? He happened to be playing with Lightning forward Mathieu Joseph.

If you’re looking for a snack while on Maui, Jonah and Alli Gadjovich have a recommendation for you:

Tomas Hertl and his family also headed to the Hawaiian Islands, enjoying some sun and relaxation while looking like it was the time of their life. With a trio of smiles that infectious, you can’t help but have your mood lifted by this photo alone.

There are a ton of adorable photos on Tomas and Aneta Hertl’s Instagrams.

Timo Meier may not be too enthusiastic about leaving Cabo San Lucas, but the team needs their All-Star back for this second half.

Let’s all hope Nieto took it easy on those waves down in Mexico, the Sharks need him in one piece. Also, for his own health and well-being of course.

The San Jose Sharks return to practice Saturday and with a game coming up on Monday, let’s hope that the team is rested and ready to jump right back into the swing of things. Let’s also hope that they spent some nice quality time with their significant others during this stretch because gameday happens to be Valentine’s Day. Yes, this is also your reminder that Monday is Valentine’s Day.

What better way to celebrate than to head down to the SAP Center and catch the Sharks as they take on the Edmonton Oilers? Puck drop is scheduled for 7:30 pm PST. Can’t make it to the arena? Catch the game on NBC Sports California or on the Sharks Audio Network.
