While on vacation, Drake made one fan’s day with his surprisingly generous gesture.
Drake showed off his generous side while on vacation in Turks & Caicos recently by surprising a random fan with $10,000 in cash. Drizzy, who is one of the richest rappers in the world with a net worth in the ballpark of $200 million, had a grin from ear to ear as he hugged the unsuspecting fan following the kind gesture.
In the video, posted by Akademics on Instagram, Drake appears to have given the young fan stacks of $100 bills while people surrounding the two are heard screaming “oh my god!”
Akademics captioned the screen recording: “Drake gave a random fan $10k while in Turks and Caicos.”
The rapper has enjoyed a lavish vacation in Turks & Caicos for over a week now after jetting off from The Bahamas where he spent time chilling in the open waters. His presence was so well known, that the rapper decided to beef up his security detail.
The rapper recently won over $300,000 on his Super Bowl bets, but gambling can be precarious, and the Laugh Now Cry Later Rapper lost almost all of it after he bet big on UFC fighter Jorge Masvidal last weekend.
As rich of a man as Drake is, it probably didn’t sting too much.
This isn’t the first time the Champagne Papi has shown off his generous side, either. Drizzy famously gave away nearly $1 million in Miami while filming his music video for God’s Plan† One of the lucky recipients of Drake’s generosity was Destiny James, who received a $50,000 check from the rapper. She says she graduated from the University of North Carolina’s Gillings School of Global Public Health thanks to the cash.
“Mama, I mastered it. Daddy, I did it,” James wrote on Instagram last year. “4 days until I am officially UNC Alum.”
Drake noticed the post and commented: “LETS GOOOOOOOOOOOOOO DES.”
Last December, Drake again showed off his willingness to spread his fortune. The Toosie Slide rapper shocked some of his fellow Canadians when he drove around handing out giant stacks of cash from the back of his Mercedes-Benz Maybach.
Drizzy also invested in a beloved 40-year-old restaurant called Randy’s Patties. The spot, located in Drake’s hometown of Toronto, had announced its closure before the rapper stepped in and offered a lifeline.
