Local roundup: Penn College baseball goes 2-1 on spring break trip at Myrtle Beach | News, Sports, Jobs

Penn College went 2-1 in its spring break trip at Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, beating Rivier, 12-0 and 10-0, before falling to Catholic, 14-6, in college baseball. In game one, Jake Wagner went 4 for 5. Cameron Dick had a triple in the first game, went 3 for 3 in the second with a double, triple and four RBIs, and went 2 for 5 in the third game.

Against Catholic, Dick was the team’s only hitter with multiple hits.

• In the Patriot League semifinals in women’s basketball, Bucknell defeated Navy, 64-44, to advance to the championship. Taylor O’Brien led the Bison with 21 points and Isabella King had nine. Carly Krsul came off the bench to lead the team with 10 rebounds.

Navy had 27 points from Ciera Hertelendy.

• Four Lycoming College women’s lacrosse players scored as Lycoming fell to Moravian, 20-4, in non-conference action.

The Warriors (1-3 overall) got on board first, with freshman Kailey Stocker finding senior Erika Boyer for a score 2:37 into the first quarter. Lycoming’s next score came off an inventive play from junior Rorie Bass Foresman, who forced a turnover near the end line and then found freshman Erin Henn in front of the cage for a score with 30 seconds left in the first half. Sophomore Rylie Cranmer also added a score with two seconds left in the period, making it 10-3 Moravian at the break.

Junior Tess Arnold scored four minutes into the third quarter to counter an earlier score from the Greyhounds (2-2 overall) and make it 11-4, but the Greyhounds scored the final nine goals of the game.
