Polish airlines announced the commencement of flights from Warsaw, the largest city of Poland, to Mumbai effective from May 31, 2022. An official statement issued by LOT Polish Airlines said that Poland national national carrier has announced the commencement of flight from Warsaw to Mumbai from May 31, news agency ANI reported.
Furthermore, LOT Polish Airlines has also announced the resumption of Warsaw-Delhi flight operations from the same date. The airline informed that the flight services will resume with three weekly frequencies to start with and increase to five weekly departures starting May 2, 2022.
It was a long pending demand by the Indian diaspora in Poland to resume the flights between the two countries.
The airline said, “LOT Polish Airlines is pleased to announce the commencement of passenger flights to Mumbai effective 31st May 2022. Furthermore, the Polish flag carrier resumes passenger flights to Delhi effective 29th March 2022.” (sic)
The statement added that the airline is resuming flights to Delhi after a two-year break due to the Covid-19 pandemic. It added, “India is the world’s seventh-largest economy and the most important Polish trade in South Asia.”
BOOST TO TOURISM
Rafa Milczarski, President of the Management Board, LOT Polish Airlines, was quoted by the Economic Times as saying, “India is one of the most exotic destinations in our flight network. We are delighted that after a pandemic-related break, our flagship aircraft can again land at Delhi’s IGI Airport. Ensuring a direct connection is an essential element in strengthening Polish-Indian cooperation.” (sic)
He also said that it is a great opportunity for Poles to choose India as their holiday destination.
“We as Indo-Polish Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IPCCI) are extremely glad to see the announcement by Poland to connect Mumbai and Delhi directly. It’s an important step forward by Poland and will give a big boost for trade and tourism between India Poland ,” Amit Lath, Vice President of Indo-Polish Chamber of Commerce and Industry was quoted by ANI.
