Fire breaks out at hotel in North Conway, New Hampshire

Firefighters are battling a large fire at the Red Jacket Mountain View Resort in North Conway.Witnesses at the scene said crews from multiple towns are responding to the large fire.The New Hampshire State Fire Marshal’s Office has been asked to assist in the investigation and they are responding, New Hampshire Department of Safety spokesperson Tyler Dumont told News 9.>> See raw video from the sceneRed Jacket said in a statement a fire broke out at the resort Saturday afternoon.”At this time, the North Conway Fire Department and area partners are working to extinguish the flames,” said Laura Knudsen. “Guest safety remains our utmost focus as we continue to work closely with emergency responders.” Conway Police told WMUR that a portion Route 16 was closed in the area. “As soon as we got towards the hotel you could just see smoke everywhere,” said Casey Cote, who is visiting the area.Witnesses sent pictures and videos to WMUR of fire and smoke billowing out of the building.There is no word on any injuries or on what started the fire.This story is breaking. Red Jacket said in a statement a fire broke out at the resort Saturday afternoon.

Conway Police told WMUR that a portion of Route 16 was closed in the area.
